Research Interests

The Center for Metals in Biocatalysis has been formed to foster interactions among the various groups at the University of Minnesota who are interested in metal ions and their roles in biocatalysis. Research activities include:

  • Biodegradation of aliphatic and aromatic compounds
  • Mechanisms of biological alkane oxidations by nonheme iron and copper centers
  • Oxygen activation
  • Nitrogen oxide metabolism
  • Synthesis and design of structural and functional models of metalloenzymesDNA cleavage
  • Metalloprotein crystallography
  • Spectroelectrochemistry
