The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The hotel offers accommodations as well as attractive meeting space and an exhibition hall of sufficient size to accommodate all of the scientific posters that will be contributed by the attendees. Space will also be available for exhibits from scientific vendors. The Hyatt Regency is located on the Nicollet pedestrian mall which winds through the downtown area connecting the Main Street river front area which was the birthplace of Minneapolis with the modern Minneapolis Loring Greenway and the Sculpture Garden. The latter has the Claes Oldenburg sculpture "Spoonbridge and Cherry" which has become the symbol of Minneapolis and provides important elements of the ICBIC9 logo. In midsummer, the Mall is alive with outdoor restaurants and pubs, shopping in upscale stores, and food and music at the Sommerfest celebrations in the Minneapolis Orchestra Hall and Peavey Plaza across the street from the hotel. Minneapolis has long been known for its excellent theater, led by the internationally known Guthrie theater which is a short walk from the hotel. Throughout the downtown area are clubs for live music of all types and fine restaurants in all price ranges. The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, home to the Minnesota Twins major league baseball team, and the Target Center, home to large popular concerts and other events, are also within walking distance. Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes and the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul have their share of them. Extensive parks with walking and biking trails surround the lakes as well as the Mississippi River which cuts through the cities on its way south. These are easily reached by a moderate walk from the Hyatt Regency or a short bus ride on the extensive public transportation system which links the twin cities and suburbs. Public transportation also connects downtown with the Mall of America, the largest indoor shopping mall in the United States. The complex includes hundreds of stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and an indoor amusement park with a roller coaster and other rides that families will enjoy.
